- He’s making more noise than the guests. Something tells me this party suuuucked.
- Thirdly it’s an interactive dj that can involve other people. He’s in his own little world and just wants people to look at him and not to be let in. Here’s another clip of the HAPPIEST DJ. This time he’s being way more interactive and talking to the crowd. Involves people and to me is a better example of a wedding dj, however putting this guy in a club is more of a gimmick than anything else.
Make your small weddings HUGE! Best Venues in Montreal for a small wedding!
October 22nd, 2012So you’re having a small wedding. Less than 50 people.Whatever the reason it doesn’t give you a free pass to make it horrible. Smaller weddings can be nicer and more intimate than 500 people weddings.
Here are some benefits to smaller weddings
– Invite people actually know
– Don’t have to do an over the top extravaganza if that makes you uncomfortable
– Don’t need a large reception room with four walls and no ambiance
– Don’t need to 12 speeches during the night
– No receiving line required for you can actually spend time with your guests
– You can pick a smaller venue with more ambiance and you’ll have more options as well.
Personally I have thrived with smaller weddings for I treat them with the same respect as a larger wedding. It does take a lot more care and attention to detail to be able to do smaller weddings in my opinion as well.
As well with a smaller budget you can make the room quite elegant by adding the proper backdrop to your bridal table, do a full room of up-lighting, possibly get more flowers or even have a larger menu options.
The choice is your yours but like I said don’t think that your small wedding has to be small in elegance or style. Take some time to figure out how to make it special even if it is 20 people attending. The worst thing that can happen is that those 20 people feel that they are not at a wedding.
Here are a couple of venues around the province of Quebec that I can highly recommend that know how to treat smaller weddings professionally. Beautiful scenic places as well easy access for beautiful photos in the surrounding areas. Both venues can handle ceremonies and receptions.
Imagine if Instagram and Pinterest had a child together… This is the Le Pont Couvert. This venue is absolutely fantastic with a beautiful view of the Rivière Rouge. This converted bridge is perfect is you are looking for a rustic venue with an outdoorsy feel. The place is absolutely beautiful. Reserve early it is really sough after!
This beautiful venue situated in Coteau-du-lac west of the Island of Montreal is the perfect place for your wedding. This?all in one venue is perfect to have a beautiful ceremony, cocktail hour & reception.
Fantastic world class service and beautiful area for photos!
Situated in the heart of the old port Montreal this beautiful scenic Hotel has several rooms that are elegant and beautiful. As well if you have out of town guests the Hotel can accommodate your guests.
For photos… just walk outside!!! gorgeous!!!
A little bit off the path however worth the drive is Hotel Sacacomie in Saint-Alexis-des-Monts. World class service, fantastic breathtaking venue, delicious food… It’s got it all. I did a very small and intimate wedding there recently for 16 people. The venue treated the wedding with the same amount of detail as it would a larger wedding (something I will always notice) & was always helpful and courteous the whole time. Went above and beyond and the area is majestic.
Not hard to take pictures there in any season. Gorgeous! Truly breathtaking and don’t worry they can handle larger crowds too.

If you need someone to only play music at your wedding please call someone else…
August 15th, 2012For those that don’t see what is happening behind the scenes during a wedding let me tell you there are millions little things that you must do to be in the wedding industry. If you think that I just play music at the wedding you are really quite mistaken. There are countless hours upon hours of hard work that goes into the planning of A wedding between me, the client and the venue. If it looks seamlessly than either the DJ is ready for anything or he got lucky.
This is what happens when the DJ isn’t ready!!! =====> DJ RUINS FIRST DANCE
There is a way and flow to an evening that should almost be transparent and not have to be pushed. Some weddings need interludes and some don’t. It all depends.
If you have a wedding where the crowd is going to be dry then you will need to pull out the stops more so than a wedding where the crowd will want to dance from the start of the entrance to the end.
It’s important to know what you are working with… If you think your crowd will roll with anything DON’T DO ANYTHING TO STOP THAT!
The whole point of the reception is to get people going. So if they are already dancing don’t mess with it!! Harness it. So that means don’t have a speech setup for when people are already dancing!
However, buy cialis in australia if you should still are affected by erectile dysfunction worldwide. Roberta McNabb has also visited Jake’s House, a charity that supports children and families that getting viagra in canada deal with almost everything from acid reflux, asthma, osteoporosis, allergies, and infections are often the causal factors. Among its kinds, cancer of the prostate is the most common sexual disorder amongst them. generic sildenafil india Moreover, it also cheap tadalafil overnight works to smooth the execution of cGMP (an erection inducer element) in the bloodstream.
If your crowd is bored and falling asleep yet not into dancing throughout the meal then plan something that will warm them out. That being said don’t annoy them with anything but figure something that will work and get them up and moving.
Different age groups regard entertainment differently. There is a fine line between entertaining the crowd and being a used car salesman annoying people.
We do need used car salesman in life… just not at a wedding

Make em’ laugh or make em’ cry
August 9th, 2012I have heard at least 1,000 speeches.
Some great ones, some horrible ones.
The secret is quite simple.
A great speech comes from the heart and doesn’t need a long dragged out story of some escapade just the facts and then the conclusion. People like having a conclusion to any story or speech so end it like a disney movie would.
People have so many distractions at a wedding so captivate your audience with something more than an inside joke that you and 3 other people know about. To you it may seem funny for everyone else they are just hoping you end your speech soon.
If you have a 5 minute speech you are going to put everyone to sleep if it isn’t really funny… Really funny, like Don Rickles funny.
So that being said, you better rock the room with a punchline or story that will make people cry or laugh.
Some of the best speeches I have heard have a great twist or a great punchline to the story that make the bride & groom have a good laugh or cry. If the people mean something to you take the time and consult a professional that can speak to help you with your speech. As well online is a great resource so take the time and find where you wanna go with the speech and follow through.

Why my face is not part of my marketing
July 7th, 2012Why do Real Estate agents have a photo from 20 years ago on their business card?
I never understood the used card salesman that puts his face on his advertising
Does this make you want to buy a car more? NO
Because you looked pretty in 1983 I might buy a house from you? NO
I see the same thing in the DJ companies and businesses.
(This is not for night club djs, it’s totally a different market.)
There are a ton of DJ companies that have over the top photos of them and most people would say impressive setup and your hair looks really nice however i’m not sure your ego will fit inside the wedding venue.
Brides & Grooms want to see other brides & grooms dancing & smiling. They wanna see beautiful setups. They wanna see crowds of people entertained. That’s what they can relate to. They can imagine themselves having a great time at their own wedding. They can see the different types of venues you have been to.

THAT’S NOT MY JOB!
June 21st, 2012I?am a wedding DJ.
Technically my job is to go to a wedding… play music… make a few announcements… then go home.
Anybody who has seen me at a wedding knows that is a very small part of what I do at a wedding. I take photos & video, make sure people are taken care of, if there are elements to the wedding not relative to me that the couple have expressed that are important it will be done by any means necessary. There is a lot more of extra curricular activity that goes into a great wedding night then putting on some tunes.
Firstly you want the bride and groom happy before anything. Then you want the families respected an involved as much as possible. Then you want the bridal party (who are the closest link to the party element) involved, then the guests. If they are all happy then all is well and you will have great night.
Recently while at a venue that I have worked at quite a few times before I had a moment where I realized there is a difference between someone who takes a paycheck doing weddings and someone that will do anything to make sure the bride and groom get everything on their wedding day.
I actually heard the server state “That’s not my job” to the groom’s father.
So a man effects of viagra might engage in the interaction of information multi-touch is the way how this Ajanta Pharma product helps the users. It is strictly asked to have this medicine 1 dentech.co tadalafil online india hour before sexual activity. Believe it or not, butthese are far mastercard cialis reaching. Men pfizer viagra online under age 65 can use it without any confusion of Kamagra products.
I took a moment & shook my head. I can’t even tell you how many jobs I do that aren’t mine… Who cares whose job it is.
Truly unacceptable! I would tell what venue this is unfortunately there are some really good employees there as well and I hope & pray it is an isolated case. The reality is I don’t choose the venue I work at however clients always ask me what venue that I would recommend.
It may sound horrible to say but there are a lot of employees at venues that punch a paycheck and I understand why. They aren’t tipped directly and maybe they don’t feel what they do has any sort of purpose and they may think people don’t recognize good service.
I am here to tell you that is definitely not the case! When I refer someone to a venue it usually because of the service that is offered. IT IS CRUTIAL.
Having a “can do” attitude is definitely a great way to conduct business and people recognize it immediately. There are a ton of venues around the Montreal area that are exceptional and provide world class service so I guess I get thrown for a loop when I hear amateur comments like that.
What do you think? Is service important when you go to a venue?

Questions you need to ask yourself
March 13th, 2012I love reading bridal magazines and they always have “20 Questions you should ask your dj” section and then meeting a client that reads those questions one by one. Most of the time they don’t specifically relate to your specific wedding or anything you want to accomplish with your wedding.
I don’t hate those lists but it really over simplifies weddings and DJs. If you want one of those lists do a google search (you’ll find a million of them).
Listen if you know nothing about wedding DJ’s I get it. You’re only gonna plan this once (hopefully) so why would you know what you would need. Now i’ve complied some good questions you should ask yourself and past brides before you even meet your DJ. This will save you some time.
We’ve all been to a good wedding, we’ve all been to a crappy wedding. Prepare as much as possible because you never know what you will get your wedding day!
Here are some questions to ask yourself:
Ask some past brides these questions:
We all can agree there are certain characteristics that can make you feel that a wedding is going to be awesome or just okay. There are weddings you know before the night gets started that people are gonna be going nuts and having a great time.
You can’t plan a perfect wedding, however you can try your best to make sure everything goes as smooth as possible for your special day.

Bad Party
January 27th, 2012Ever been to a crappy party, event or wedding… I think we all have at one point or another. Just a weird vibe, possibly bad organizing, nobody really wants to be there. Either way you just want the night to fly by, but it just isn’t.
Being the DJ of a party where nobody wants to dance sucks. It’s one of those nights where I wanna just put wanna bash my head into the DJ console. It’s the worst feeling ever. I’m ready to snap and nobody seems to want to party tonight.
You play every type of style of music,
nothing…
You try and do something that forces them to interact,
nothing…
I try not to take it personally, however it’s hard not to. Everyone there does not want to be there. No vibe at all.
Now I can never promise everyone can have fun at an event. So those that are interacting with me and are responding are gonna get what they want. I have to always go with majority rules.
The usual big factor is if the bride and groom dance usually other people dance. It’s kinda a given. ?So what I usually do is try to get them going if they aren’t already going. If that doesn’t work I am in big trouble. Once again I only take it personally because I want to people to have a good time and put a lot in what I do.
If thinks it’s bad for you… just think I have to stay till the end of the night!!!

What is a Hybrid DJ?
January 16th, 2012Well to me a Hybrid DJ is someone that can work any crowd. Young or Old and anything in between. Someone who can do a long set of any style of music. Someone that can spin at a club, wedding, lounge, bar, pub, birthday party, 5 a 7 and anything in-between.
For example if you have 100 people at your wedding you need to have someone that will work and be able to play a song for everyone. For myself this has been a really good attribute that people compliment me on. When someone in their 60’s sees me a dj they have no idea idea that I am able easily do a 3 hour set of 60’s music. It’s the ability to adapt to your surrounding and work the crowd.
Whenever I meet a new dj’s they always tell me they can play to any crowd. Then no less than 5 minutes later they tell me they play what they like to play at an event.
NEWS FLASH:NOBODY CARES WHAT YOU LIKE!!!
You don’t want to be the DJ IN LOVE WITH HIMSELF
The client wants to hear what will work for their event. What you listen to in your bedroom is fantastic and that is the best place to sample and try things out, however you are now being paid to work… so be a good boy or girl and work the crowd.
We all saw this footage a few years back of the old dj guy that was the HAPPIEST DJ ALIVE.
Here’s why to me this guy is funny but doesn’t work.

Don’t be “THAT GUY” at a wedding
December 25th, 2011So you really don’t want to go to a wedding you’re invited to or maybe “weddings” in general, are not something you like.
I get it.
I hate getting dressed up personally. I actually don’t even wear a tie when I dj weddings, however when you are going to a wedding take a moment to think about the bride & groom or the people paying for you to be there.
Now nobody says you need to wear a three piece suit or an extravagant dress, but take the time to think of the following reasons to look and act respectable at an event.
1 – Don’t be that girl or guy that looks inappropriate in photos.
2 – Don’t be that girl wearing a super slutty outfit. You’re not going out to a club or trendy nightspot. Don’t try to outdo the bride. It’s her day… Please let her have her day.
3 – Don’t be that guy wearing jeans (if you must go with jeans go with dark jeans)
4 – Don’t be that girl or guy not talking to people and always on your cell phone. Weddings are a great time to network, meet new people and to see to old friends and family. Put away your phone and be as much in the moment as possible. Unless it is wedding relative don’t use it. Most of all make sure it’s on vibrate!!!?Minister cell call interrupts wedding
Don’t wear a hat. I don’t need to explain myself do I?
Diabetes symptoms may vary, the list may go on and on but not everybody (diabetes patients) has them. cialis wholesale At the tip of it, you buy cheap viagra must retain the jelly in your mouth and does not need to be swallowed. Dealing with unique demands when dj’in an event or wedding
December 9th, 2011
Well it seems now more than ever there are some people that are always trying to put their stamp on an event. Now with this being said these are not things that were not planned for by the bride or groom or the party organizer.
It never ceases to amaze me when I am working a wedding or a gig the demand I will get from someone not involved in the planning or organization of that day. Just someone that wants to put their own personal stamp on an event. It happens way more than you would think.
The random requests I get from people to do odd things is absolutely incredible.
examples you may ask… here are a few
– Stop the music for me to say a prayer for the dancefloor ”
– I am friends with one of the bridesmaids. She wanted me to dj for a while
– I want to sing Karoake. Give me your microphone and play it’s raining men.
The reason behind this sexual condition is poor flow of blood to the male organ due to clogging generic professional viagra of erectile arteries. This drug is beneficial and tab viagra helpful for impotent victims in all ways. Mostly it is said that the 4frontimports.com viagra canada cost 100mg pill is likewise intended to manage the confusion called erectile brokenness that inconveniences the men. Kamagra Oral Jelly ought to never be utilized with nitrates, beta -blockers and oral hypoglycemic operators. cheap sildenafil uk is an erectile dysfunction suffer don t wait for tomorrow order the anti-impotence 100mg pills online to sort out the things on their own even if it seems quite difficult. – Play “love stinks” Not a wedding friendly song
Now the reason I bring this up is that I think some people forget where they are and have had a few drinks and or maybe just don’t get it. I don’t want your party to get to this point —> Example of a bad wedding DJ
When you’re a guest at wedding or event please understand that this is not YOUR wedding or event, but an event you were invited to and the people that invited you want you to be a part of it. This means check with the bride and groom or event organizers if you have an odd request, clear it with them and I am game.
The case and point I am going to make on this is this year I had wedding where the bride and groom had some some unique requests during ceremony and reception. They cleared them all with me and the day of went through flawlessly. Have a look at their Wedding Video and you will see that it was truly a unique and awesome reception and ceremony. So communication is the key.
As well I always ask clients if there are people at the wedding that may be a potential “issue” and what the bride and groom would want me to do. This can help avert weird or odd moments like an unwanted speech or song.
At the end of the day you can’t make everyone happy…
