We highly recommend dj Shane if you are looking for a top notch dj that can move any crowd and who has great energy. Shane was great to work with since our first meeting. He made us at ease right away and listened to our needs - you can tell that he really has the couple as his priority and this is very comforting.
Shane is always available in the months leading up to your big day for any questions or requests you might have. On the day of our wedding and for weeks afterwards, Shane exceeded our expectations in every way! Everyone was on their feet throughout the evening (and we had many guests who NEVER dance) and many of our guests raved about how this was the best dj they had ever seen at a wedding.
But Shane is not only a dj! He also took video and it was amazing both in image quality and editing! It is footage we will treasure for years to come. He also took amazing shots of everything from our flowers to our first dance.

I highly recommend Shane's dj service. We live in San Francisco but wanted to have our wedding in Montreal because we still have our family and friends there and boy I am glad we had our wedding there. I couldn't ask for a better DJ!
I was a little worried at first because we didn't have any meeting before hand but with few email exchanges, everything went so smooth!
I also gave him a CD of k-pop that I wanted him to play, and he mixed in so well and played it at the right time.
It's been already 3 years since we got married and my friends in SF still talks about how awesome our DJ was.
C'mon, who stays till 4 am to make sure all the guests are having fun!!! well Shane did!!!! It was just so much fun that even our 80 years old grandpa and grandma were dancing!

Anyone who has planned a huge event, such as a wedding knows how stressful it can be. Especially for someone with a type A personality like me, who devoted an endless amount of time to ensure that everything is perfect. When choosing our DJ, my husband and I really wanted someone who would be personable, professional, and dedicated to ensuring our guests have an amazing time on the dance floor. Shane far exceeded our expectations.
From the initial meeting with him, Shane took the time to get to know us and understand the vision we wanted for our special day. He was very accessible and always quick to answer questions and give his professional advice. We could tell our wedding was important to him and that this was not just a job to him. He is passionate about what he does and it really shows in the level of service he provides.
On the day of our wedding, he really went above and beyond. I felt like he was much more than just our DJ. He took care of the lighting for our venue and I was completely in awe of how he transformed the atmosphere of the room and really made it into the dream venue that I was envisioning. He was available all day to assist in whatever way possible and worked with our MC to make sure everything ran smoothly during the reception. We even made a last minute change to our entrance song, as we decided to do a wedding party dance to gangnam style and he was more than happy to accommodate!.
The dance floor at our wedding was always packed. We had a multicultural wedding and requested many different genres of music, and no matter what was played, everyone loved it. At 2am when it was time to shut things down every guest from the youngest to the oldest wanted to keep on dancing.
Even after the wedding, we continue to be impressed with Shane. He made us a beautiful wedding reception video that we will watch for many years to come. He captured so many special moments: ones that make us laugh and ones that make us cry. What an amazing gift this video is.
We really cannot say enough good things about our experience with Shane. He was a pleasure to work with and was a huge part of making our wedding the best day of our lives. We would, without a moment of hesitation recommend him to anyone planning a wedding or other special event. He is friendly, reliable, professional, and the level of service he gives is exceptional. We hired Shane for our wedding in January 2013. It was a small wedding (less than 20 people) and Shane was able to propose the appropriate services for the event.
He took over the smooth running of the ceremony and the evening beyond our expectations and was able to coordinate with the hotel to make sure everything ran perfectly without us having to worry about anything .
During the evening Shane took charge of the many elements, which was greatly appreciated. He adapted to the mood of the evening and the music was great. To our surprise the guests danced a lot, it is probably related to the choice of music!

We hired Shane for the baptism of my daughter. Right from the start we were impressed as Shane setup some up-lights in the hall that he never told us previously. It made the hall look amazing!

Where to start? As soon as Alexis and I initially met with you those many months before our wedding, we were sure we made a good decision.
Then the planning started and we realized we hired a superstar. You had questions about things we had not even thought of, and made suggestions when we said we were clueless about how to do things. All your suggestions were perfect and not only made the night run smooth, but so much fun as well.
You brought a fun twist with the dice game, and the big screen and bubble/foam machine were awesome and certainly worth the cost!!

Shane was an awesome DJ! From the moment my wife and I contacted him, he was super-professional. It was clear he'd done this before, and that made everything so much easier.
Shane isn't just a DJ, he organizes the whole night. His experience doing weddings was so useful, because he was able to organize the order of things so that the whole night would "flow." All of our guests would not stop talking about how awesome the wedding was. The music, the atmosphere, how "intimate" and "natural" it was -- I am sure that a lot of that was because Shane made things run smoothly in the way he organized the night.
The music was awesome, the lights were awesome, the whole thing was very natural, Shane was funny -- yet not over-the-top. Everyone said the DJ made the night! Most importantly, we really felt that he bent over backwards for us. He took requests, listened to us, made several trips to the venue to plan things out, -- really made the whole thing about us, and made us feel special. We were referred to DJ Shane through a friend of ours that had been married years ago. I had only received his number after speaking with 3 other DJs that friends had recommended. They all sounded more like used car salesmen than wedding DJs, as all they tried to do was sell me on extra lighting, photography, backup DJ, etc. I felt intimidated and was dreading the phone call to DJ Shane Oliveira. But the clock was ticking and we needed to find a DJ for the wedding before they all got taken for that weekend.
From the moment I got on the phone with Shane I felt comfortable and at ease. His biggest concern was how I was feeling, and what he could do to alleviate any stress. From start to finish, he was there and helpful every step of the way. He went above and beyond what I ever could have expected from a DJ. So much so that he happened to call me the day before the wedding to see how I was doing, and I was having a BRIDEZILLA moment. Needless to say Shane hopped on the computer and solved my problem right then and there in one phone call. I was blown away.
Shane was extremely knowledgeable and had great suggestions for the type of mood I wanted set for the wedding. I trusted him completely and he did not disappoint. From the ceremony right until the wee hours of the morning he set the tone for our wedding and I would not have changed a single thing.
To top it all off, Shane video taped out ceremony and wedding reception, as well as took photos throughout the night. He has managed to capture incredible memories and moments for us forever and we will never be able to thank him enough for that.

We met Shane through a colleague at work who, without hesitation, referred us to him to DJ our wedding. As with most folks planning their wedding, we really didn't know what we were looking for in a DJ until we started meeting with many of them in and around Montreal. We quickly found out what we didn't want; unprofessional, inexperienced, cookie-cutter and incapable of delivering a personalized experience which is what weddings really are.
Shane was a without a doubt a breath of fresh air. From start to finish, our experience with Shane went beyond our expectations. He was always available to answer questions and address any concerns and he made it his responsibility to ensure we were comfortable and anxious-free. His suggestions and feedback on our wedding vision was so well received and genuine that we had no problem exploring these suggestions, eventually incorporating many of them into our day.
On the day of our wedding, Shane was very well appreciated by all in attendance. He was approachable, personable and he read the crowed very well. He kept us on track with formalities and always kept the communication with us open (in the event a request was made for Macarena or YMCA). He kept the party alive and thriving well into the wee hours. Although we already knew we had the best DJ for our wedding, there was one moment in the night that solidified this realization; The groom from the wedding in the hall next to us came to my bride and told her he wished he had our DJ!
At the end of the day, Shane is a master of his trade and has the ever-important experience that so many seem to lack. Wether it be with music, lighting, animation, professionalism, etc, he delivered on his promises before, during and after our wedding. The success of our wedding was important to him and he did a tremendous job (a performance that some of our guests are still raving about). I would (and will) recommend Shane to anyone and I will without a doubt be seeking his services for any upcoming event I am involved in.

We knew the moment we met Shane that he was the DJ for us. We had met with a few prior to Shane but never felt right about any of them. 2 minutes into our conversation with Shane it was clear our choice was made. We loved his humor and personality and we immediately clicked. He made us feel comfortable right from the beginning, listening to what we wanted and accommodating all our requests.
He made great suggestions along the way when we needed cool ideas and never forced us into anything we weren't excited about. One of the best things is how accessible Shane is. Day or night, we'd text/email back and forth and he always helped make me feel calm and organized. We used a long time friend as our MC and Shane went out of his way to meet him to ensure they were on the same page.
The day of the wedding Shane truly goes above and beyond and I don't use that term lightly. We got married on a day that was forecasted for 100% rain. The day before the wedding Shane was helping me contact tent vendors to see who had one available. When it started raining during the ceremony and some guests seats were outside the tent he ran over and started handing out umbrellas.
During the reception, he ensured the night flowed smoothly, attended to our head tables every need and made sure all our guests were entertained all night long. The proof is the fact that the ceremony started at 2:30 pm and the party went all the way until 3 am.
Shane never stopped that music!!! Another HUGE plus is that Shane video tapped our entire ceremony and all the memorable moments during our reception. He took some amazing footage and pictures that will help us re-live this special day/night for years to come. We owe Shane a HUGE thank you for ensuring our entire wedding day was smooth and stress free which it was. I've already recommended Shane to some friends and will continue to do so. We were lucky to have him as our DJ and now our friend.

Going beyond the responsibilities of any average DJ, Shane proved that he offers much more than music, lighting and entertainment for guests. His immense involvement prior to the wedding, confirming the details of the reception schedule, and even calming down a panicky Bride was followed by great initiative on his part to ensure that the venue staff was on the same track with the schedule.
It seems as though DJ Shane was involved in every great memory from the wedding reception; including the unlucky dance-off between the Bride and Groom and a professional dancer, and the quick lesson on Greek dancing in the Bridal room. I even recall DJ Shane being one of the first to get down on his knee to clap (as is customary) when the Greek dancing began.
DJ Shane is very organized, professional, respectful, compassionate to the needs of his clients and very well-liked by all. We couldn't be more satisfied with the choice we made for our wedding. We highly recommend him for any event!

Shane is amazing. It's going to be hard to write a reference without sounding over-the-top, but what he brings to the table truly is. I won't get into what he can do, rather I'll tell you what he did do.
Our wedding venue wanted to skip our introductions for our ceremony and Shane stepped up without us even knowing and made sure they didn't. When we were off schedule due to a long photoshoot, Shane co-ordinated with the venue staff to make sure our meals came in on time.
Now for what he can do, he takes the time to get to know you, understand what you want and delivers 100%.
Nobody worked harder that day than him. He is so much more than a DJ, he is a facilitator and he goes out of his way to keep the bride and groom happy as well as keep the party going!
He took pictures and video on top of all this and gave us our first look at our wedding.

They say one of the most important things in a wedding - aside from the choice of your spouse - is the choice of your DJ...and with reason: the DJ can make or break your whole celebration (I've been to many weddings...and this is a very sad truth)!
Deciding on such a big piece of the wedding planning puzzle is not easy: there are so many factors to consider - compatibility of personality, services and options offered, DJ's receptiveness, vision and style...and price!
We must say: from the first meeting to the very last minute of our big day, Shane really was the perfect DJ: great preparation, great entertainment and game ideas and great music selection (with an openness to our suggestions)!
He even went way beyond what you would expect from a DJ/MC in making sure everyone was always comfortable (he brought us a glass of water when we were taking pictures outside, he even lowered the shades in our dining room because some people had the sun right in their eyes!) and having fun: EVERYONE loved the music and EVERYONE moved to the beat, although there were people of all ages and from different countries!

We recently had our wedding hosted by Shane, and he did an amazing and perfect job at hosting us! He turned what could have been a disastrous rainy wedding into an amazing day of fun, dancing and partying!
Our wedding ceremony and reception was held at Auberge des Gallant, in Sainte-Marthe. Even with the distance to travel, Shane was there on time, everything was setup and ready to run the ceremony way ahead of time!
After the ceremony, Shane made a lot of efforts to make sure we both had a great time. He was there brining us drinks, he was guiding our photographer, helping to control the large group of people.
We had a blast during the reception. His music selection was exactly what we wanted. We gave him a style and a list of music that we wanted to hear, and he kept the party going from the first hours of dancing to the end of the night. He has a few props and games ideas that you can play to entertain the guests during the evening.
Overall, he is a very well organized host, and he knows how to throw a great party!

We recently held our wedding on May 20th, 2012. Victoria and I had a blast. All the services provided by DJ Shane were exceptional and professional. He was attentive to our needs and helpful to provide good suggestions. He was easy to deal with and we trusted his judgment.
DJ Shane arranged the lighting effects in the reception hall. It was beautiful. We did not have a lot of decorations, but the lighting helped to create that wow factor.
As MC, he helped to manage the time line and animate activities during the night. He paced well the activities during the night and made sure that the energy was always high. He even created a slide show presentation with our engagement pictures and played it to music.
As DJ, he played great music all night long. The young and the old were engaged to come dance. We partied with our guests until 2am on the dance floor. The dance floor was never empty.
We thoroughly enjoyed our wedding reception, as did our guests. DJ Shane was a big contributor to that nights success. He exceeded our expectations with his service. He even took pictures and made recorded videos of the night activities. We highly recommend him for your special day, We had an unforgettable and magical night.

We had read on a few websites that using an I-Pod could be a way of cutting costs for our wedding and we were seriously considering doing so in lieu of hiring a DJ. Looking back on it now, that would have a been a huge mistake.
The first time we spoke to DJ Shane we were still unsure what way we were going to go but after talking to him for 20 mins we decided to leave the I-Pod at home and leave the DJ'ing to a professional. Professional is a very good word to use when describing DJ Shane. .
He helped us plan, came up with ideas, responded to some unusual requests very quickly (same day), offered useful solutions based on his experiences and coordinated with the venue like a true expert. He really helped us not only with DJ'ing needs but with other wedding issues (he even referred us to a great photographer!). Our big thing was that we had never done anything like this before and to have DJ Shane on our side with his knowledge of weddings really helped us out. Knowing that all things DJ wise would be taken care of really helped put us at ease during some stressful times.
We had our wedding in Tremblant, which is about 2 hours from where we live, which isn't that far but was far enough to cause quite a few logistical challenges. However, when DJ Shane showed up on the wedding day he was on point and handled his business seamlessly.
You can tell when someone enjoys what they are doing and the excellent service he provides reflects that. He really takes pride in what he does and we feel we really lucked out hiring DJ Shane. We had several guests mention that he was an amazing DJ, not only the music that he played, but his energy, mic skills and positive upbeat attitude were exceptional. We even had one married couple tell us that he was way better than the DJ they hired!
Looking back on it now choosing DJ Shane was a brilliant decision, and we would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a DJ.

When Chris and I were planning our wedding we did so over the course of a year and a bit. We like most couples ran down the list of all the vedors we may need for the night and thought of all possible contacts that each of us may have had. When it came to choosing our DJ Chris knew just where he was going.

From going above and beyond his duties of a Dj he was a friend at the wedding and entertainment for our guests.
From sound and lighting to sound effects during the respective "wedding games" Shane was in tune with everything. At one point he even brought out cocktails and beer for the wedding party while pictures were taking place. He was thoughtfull and courtious and very proffesional.
Shane made sure that all of our needs were met, from the songs that were played early in the evening to please the parents generation to the great music that brought our friends back to the days when we used to party out in the bars. It set a great mood and ambiance one that people are still talking about a month later. Every one of our guests had made a comment one way or another as to the fun that they had that night.
He implicated old with new and brought back and created some great memories for years to come. I will never be able to listen to Return of the Mac the same way again thanks to him And to top it off.. he even created a small homemade style movie for us to keep for years to come, catching moments that were both special and unforgetable.

Right from the beginning, he was professional, kind, and, very knowledgeable in his element. Over the last several months leading to our wedding, Shane took initiative and made sure we got what we wanted and delivered on our wedding date.
He was very proactive, taking intiative in calling us to make sure everything was going well with our wedding planning, reminding us what we had currently set for the wedding, and letting us know what new services he had to offer.

SERVICE: Dj Shane provided my husband and I with the best service possible. From our initial face-to-face meeting, to him accompanying us to the ALT Hotel months before the wedding to ensure a smooth sailing, to the day of the wedding being the best day of our lives, thanks in part to him.
MUSIC: We gave DJ Shane a list of songs to play for our reception dance entrance and our other activities e.g. bouquet and garter toss. We submitted a schedule of events to him ahead of time. During our wedding, you would think that DJ Shane had always been sitting next to us while we planned the wedding all those months ago because our dances and activities felt like they followed each other seamlessly in terms of music. Then, for the dance floor, the songs that DJ Shane played felt true to our personal taste of music, so we all had a blast on the dance floor!
LIGHTS: I especially loved DJ Shane's lighting effects. Our main color was blue and it was refreshingly cool. DJ Shane would even sometimes sync the changes in color with the beat of the song that was playing, which made for watching our wedding videos even more fun.
VIDEO: DJ Shane made a 10-minute video for us and we really appreciated his amazing ability to capture the moments that mattered most to us, and this video will always serve as a touching reminder of how special our time with family and friends was that day. Also, that DJ Shane was able to provide a live streaming of our wedding day was not only very modern but also allowed our family in the Philippines to take part in our special day, which was something that meant a lot especially to our parents, as they were so happy to tell our family members that they could watch our wedding live.
PERSONALITY: If you ask DJ Shane for anything, he'll do his best to accommodate your requests. I liked that he always tried to find a way to give us what we wanted. He livens up the party, without taking over. He was great at hyping up the crowd. I especially liked that DJ Shane was a great combination of being proactive and having our best interests at heart. As an example, he made sure to include our parents and other family members in the video that he made for us so that when we all watch the video, we can see that we each had our moment on the dance floor. We will definitely re-hire DJ Shane again; he was absolutely a pleasure to work with and we are so thankful for his kind help with our wedding!

Megan's sweet sixteen
I wanted to organize a sweet sixteen party for my daughter. So I found a beautiful place, decorated nicely but i needed an amazing dj that can get those kids dancing and go crazy.
DJ Shane did that as well as creating a very professional ambiance that made them feel like they were in a club.
He delivered much more than i expected... Kids were dancing, jumping and singing! They told me that the dj was amazing and his repertoire of songs is really vast.

Shane was absolutely amazing from the beginning of the planning to staying an extra hour the day of to keep the party going. From the moment we first contacted him about doing our wedding he was amazing, walking us through everything we needed to do.
He is also great for mixed culture weddings giving the right mix of top 40, Greek, Italian and Polish music (in our case),as well as the classic wedding songs that no wedding would be complete without.
Finding obscure songs in other languages was not a problem and the list of songs that we requested were always played at the perfect time.
As everyone knows everyone remembers the food and the dancing at a wedding and with Shane controlling the dance floor we really had a dream wedding that our friends and family will remember for quite a while.

He was incredible! He was extremely professional and was able to read the crowd.
He was even kind enough to satisfy all the drunks who didn't want to go home, by hanging around for another hour or so to keep the party going.
He checked with us regularly to make sure things were going as planned.
I could go but the point is Shane knows a crowd and he knows how to get a party started and to have it just keep going all night!

I was confident from the beginning that he would be a perfect DJ for our event. In the end my husband and I were so pleased with his services, not only because he was accommodating and considerate, but the price was also very reasonable.
We had our wedding in October 2010, and Shane really brought the party to life. He followed through on everything we asked of him, and did his best to see that we were happy. DJ Shane animated our Harold Napper school graduation dance and it was a total success. He did a fantastic job, the kids had a blast and danced all night! The music selection was amazing!
He edited and did "montages" of all the music videos projected on the giant screen not to contain any inapropriate material for our 6th. graders. Our Principal and parents from the commite were very pleased. He accomodated all of our needs.

Juvenile Diabetes Reseach Foundation Benefit
We needed a DJ to host our Karaoke fundraising event. We were rasing funds for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Reseach Foundation).
Having DJ Shane host this event was absolutely amazing and I would recommend him if you're looking for a DJ that can get the Party starting and keep it up all night long!!!!
Throughout the night DJ Shane accommodated all the guests and kept the entertainment flowing even when no one was singing, he took special requests and played our favourite songs as well.

45 days away from the wedding, I realised it was fast time to find us a DJ! I called all kinds of people I had found through searches online, and looked into a bunch of recommendations provided by the venue, but all such leads shared a series of unfortunate commonalities: they were too expensive, too French, too English, too oldskool, or too new-skool.
Along come DJ Shane, as a reference from Alex & Bonnie (see their reference below) -- he had DJ'd their wedding at the Maison Gault in Mont-Saint-Hilaire (the same venue as us) a year earlier and they had a great experience with him.
We stayed in touch by email/phone for the next weeks, and I passed by his house 15 days before the wedding, to go over the contract, and to demo his setup (video screen, projector, laptop, video mixer, speakers, lights/lazer, and several terabytes of music and video -- all cutting edge, and all very nice).
He also volunteered to take care of our photo slideshow, which saved us an incredible amount of work and angst leading up to the wedding date.
Come day of the wedding, even with me scrambling to find last minute and obscure songs and requests from my family which they wanted to dance to, Shane remained very patient and positive, accommodating these requests and ensuring that he was able to find the songs and videos to make it a seamless night. Which it was!
From the stars on the ceiling, to the entrance music while my fiancee walked down the aisle, to the lounge music during the cocktail hour, to some MC'ing in French and English as the night went on, and special games for the bouquet & garter toss, to the oldskool tunes for the aunts, to the French techno for the cousins, to the Rod Stewart for the mother/son dance...
Shane knew his stuff, nailed the night, and put it on display in a professional and avant-garde manner.
I would recommend DJ Shane again in an instant, and look no further if you've stumbled across this site!

DJ Shane was the DJ for my surprise 40th Birthday, Wow what an awesome show he put on! Anything we asked he accomodated.
I didn't get off the dance floor all night, all ages were there with me as well boogeying all night long.

Shane was our DJ for our wedding mid September 2009.
He was very professional and fun at the same time,
this is usually very hard to do but he pulled it off.
Shane really did a lot more then just showed up and played songs,
he helped us figure out the logistics on how to incorporate music to make our wedding a fun and magical night, which was exactly what happened.
Even when Shane was not playing music, he always tried to find ways to help either to us, our guests and other staff.
He has very nice audio and lighting equipment which he sets up in a very intelligent manner.

Funniest and very friendly DJ. We had a wonderful night! It was 2am and our guests didn't want to leave because they still wanted to dance. We had small children at our wedding and DJ Shane bought glow sticks for them to also enjoy the night.
He even did a remix song for our entrance dance. He is always available if you have question. I would recommend him with no hesitation. He made everyone smile by playing most of the requested songs.

Shane was the DJ for my wedding back in 2006.
He had an engaging and fun personality which made my special night much more entertaining. I appreciated that he was up to date with the hottest music and that he played the type of music and songs I had requested.
Half my guests were of El Salvadorian ethnicity so he made sure to play lots of spanish music as well. The crowd was definitely dancing a lot, both young and old and having a great time, which is what it's really all about.
As a person who wants everything in order, I had made an agenda for the night and gave it to Shane before hand. I was impressed at how well he followed the order of things. Overall, I was really satisfied with his services and also he is a really nice guy.
